MKHC is committed to conducting its operations with ethics, integrity, and professionalism, fostering a safe and respectful workplace environment. The purpose of this policy is to prevent and address all incidents of violence and harassment in the workplace, ensuring a supportive and dignified environment for all employees, partners, suppliers, and visitors of the group. MKHC enforces zero tolerance for violence and harassment, promoting relationships based on respect, fairness, and integrity.

  1. Purpose of the Policy

The aim of this policy is to:

  • Prevent and combat violence and harassment in the workplace, promoting a safe and dignified working environment.
  1. Scope of Application

This policy applies to:

  • All employees.
  • Partners, suppliers, and visitors of the organization, regardless of their employment relationship.

 

  1. Definitions
  • Workplace Violence: Physical, psychological, or verbal abuse that causes fear or harm.
  • Harassment: Unwanted behavior that offends dignity, creating a hostile environment.
  • Sexual Harassment: Sexual behaviors that offend dignity.
  1. Principles of the Policy
  • Zero tolerance for violence and harassment.
  • Equal treatment for all.
  • Support for victims with confidentiality and impartiality.
  1. Prevention and Combating Violence and Harassment

Measures include prevention, control, limitation, and response to risks, as well as monitoring such incidents or behaviours:

  • Encouraging a workplace climate where respect, cooperation, and mutual support are core values.
  • Open communication with the HR department, direct supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Incident reporting/complaint management process.
  • Ensuring employees have the necessary training/information to perform their duties, particularly in roles with higher risks of violence and harassment incidents.
  • Technical measures such as emergency alert systems and improved lighting.
  • Raising awareness of healthy behavioral standards and supporting vulnerable groups.
  • Guidance and support for victims to reintegrate into the workplace.
  • Regular evaluation of the effectiveness of preventive and response measures, and revision/update of risk assessments and measures.
  1. Employer Obligations
  • Inform employees about the policy.
  • Investigate complaints promptly and impartially.
  • Take preventive measures.

 

 

 

  1. Employee Obligations
  • Refrain from all forms of violence and harassment.
  • Report incidents in writing to management, the HR department, and the Operations Manager.
  1. Complaint Procedure
  • Submission: Written report to the Management Representative. Reports can be made anonymously.
  • Protection: Ensuring protection from retaliation.
  • Investigation: Confidential investigation with respect for the parties involved.
  • Measures: Implementation of sanctions or victim support.
  1. Sanctions
  • Violation of the policy results in disciplinary or legal consequences.
  • Disciplinary actions, such as removal from the workplace.
  • Reporting to relevant authorities as required by law.
  1. Monitoring and Revision

The policy is reviewed regularly to ensure compliance with legislation and improve processes.

Effective from [01/01/2023].

Implementation Actions

  1. Posting the policy in shared workplace areas.
  2. Creating a file with the policy in the accounting department and collecting signatures from employees as proof of awareness.
  3. Organizing a training seminar under the responsibility of the Operations Manager, with signatures collected for participation.
